hmm! Well he's really only the second Kaito I've given amnesia to and rebuilt from the ground up, and he is veeeeery different from Kit. Mostly he's much closer to his canon counterpart (which I did on purpose), whereas Kit deviated a llllot. Kit was very much molded by his team-- Coral was the kind yet playful team who BEFRIENDED EVERYONE and was incredibly touchy feely with each other. Coral was family! They had their issues but were super unified and sappy, and Kit easily slide into that behavior and became a pretty touchy feely sappy person himself. He was also the reckless Coral-- even more reckless than he is in canon-- who was always doing dumb things without thinking about them and being a thorn in his team's side. He went through a whole arc of > try to help > fuck up > get called useless > OKAY I'M NOT GONNA BE USELESS ANYMORE > take steps to make himself not useless > actually become a pretty good sempai! Which was very fun and interesting for me to play with. He also became quite protective of Coral because he got accused of not caring about his team once or twice, so he gave up his ~IDEALS~ to play hard on trauma games to protect his team pretty quickly. All in all, Kit wound up more open and sappier and wiser after he went through a period of making stupid decisions all of the time. He's softer! And yet also quite ruthless when it comes to protecting people he loves.
KAITO IS. . . well, he's Kaito! He's cheeky and snarky and not very affectionate, and he keeps a distance between himself and others that Kit eventually lost in Aather. It's not a bad distance, just a comfortable one that he drops for certain people (Aoko, Clover, Ed. . .). He adores Tiamat, but unlike Kit who eventually worked Coral into his personal identity he hasn't quite done the same. He doesn't really slot Tiamat into a "family" like role, but he does feel close to them in a very bro-ly, coworkerly way (Clover is the exception to this ofc). Kaito also hasn't really given up his ideals to protect Tiamat yet :|a? Like, he will play to protect Tiamat but he won't play hard and he still absolutely refuses to make moves that might kill another team. Kit in Aather kind of resigned himself to having to make ruthless plays. . . Kaito in Kyr will still buck against those as much as he can.
SO BASICALLY the difference is Kaito in Kyr is really more like his canon self, and Kit is not. It's interesting to see how differently they develop and how their VERY different teams have affected them.

If by long term plans you mean have Kaito attempt to start/join the revolution against Nyssa, then yes. BEYOND THAT, he's a character I mostly coast with and do things with as they come, so! I'll probably continue on that path.

I... WHAT A GOOD QUESTION. I honestly can't really see him fitting on any of the other teams. MAYBE AMALTHEA, but Tiamat works super well for him :|a I think it helps that he was one of the original Tiamat members.

Hank's definitely the strongest CR Viva has outside her team; I still don't know how it happened fast as it did, but like, you know how she gets about Joel? Where she forgives him all sorts of things so long as he doesn't abandon her? APPLY THAT TO HANK. He could be the beast he supposedly looks like (which she still doesn't see tbh), or he could be hyperaggressive and kill people easily and she would just shrug and go "okay".
So. Keep worrying about her situation, 'cuz it ain't changing anytime soon. Fortunately most of their interactions—barring the recent somber ones—are the kind that make her forget the kind of shit she's supposed to be remembering. When he told her that bit about never really getting over the bad memories, rather just learning not to focus on them so much... that was really good for her! She's still torn up over what happened to Tess and her own situation in general and especially now that GM happened and she's relearning how scared she is of dying.
BUT HANK GOT SHITKICKED IN THAT GAME so she's kinda angry on his behalf more than her own. She's afraid of losing him, even if he doesn't make a conscious decision to leave her. This entire PLACE is working to fuck over the one thing she knows grew organically (HA HA HA THAT'S A PUN I'M HILARIOUS). Viva cares ferociously and deeply about Amalthea and she will rip people's throats out if they try to hurt them outside a game, but the fact is she woke up on that team not knowing what anyone was like or if she'd even like them, but no matter what she'd have to cooperate with them as a team. Hank, though, warmed up to her pretty darn quick, even before she heard about stuff like alliances and learned he was technically allied to Amalthea.
All this is a really roundabout way of saying that if you took Joel and removed the ruthlessness and killing innocents and the lying father figure aspects of him and just kept Ellie's jumping-into-rapids-when-she-can't-swim protectiveness, that's how she feels about Hank. She wants to give him more reasons to keep on smiling ("so you do have a laugh") and has resolved to do her damn best to make sure what happened to Gulgallana doesn't happen again, ever. LOVE HER, HANK. You're her superhero.

So incredibly used to it that he sort of just assumes that she's going to be angry no matter what he says or does, so there's not really much point in trying to get her to not be angry about everything all the time. It's sort of Clover being Clover. But, he can't really properly differentiate between her angers because anger is anger is anger and Clover being angry at thing x means basically the same as her being angry at thing y, also the sky is blue and water is wet. He doesn't really get her nuances, and it colors a lot of how he interacts with her, specifically regarding actually telling her anything.
Which. He doesn't do a lot of honesty with her, oops. While he likes her just fine and she's family and everything he doesn't feel comfortable telling her much more than the bare minimum about what he's thinking or planning on doing because he doesn't want to make her angry enough to turn her whole 'murder people who anger her too much' thing towards him. Which is a serious worry of his.
Still, he wants to support her and FRANDSHIP at her and all of that, but she throws him off and he has no clue how Clover. Leading to things like not being sure how to approach her or if he should approach her or what, and he just... sort of stays in his shell like he seems to do around most of his team, rarely venturing into anything that he thinks might be upsetting unless he feels like it's necessary--avoiding another situation like what happened with Diamond where he didn't really feel safe much of anywhere is super important to him.
