But let's get the real answer out of the way first! She considers Ed family. They aren't as close as Kaito and Clover are but that doesn't mean she thinks any less of him. She just . . . doesn't open up as much to him because he's so full of optimism and all that good shit that she can't stand it. And he's also pushy at times, which turns her off to opening up more. But she's fond of him (when she doesn't want to kill him) and he means a lot to her.
NOW . . . getting to the other things. She is absolutely livid with him, and this isn't the usual anger. This is taking that anger she experienced during the sins game and multiplying it by ten. She feels very strongly about the Cats and how they're a liability and shouldn't be forgiven, and here Ed goes and saves one during the game. Saves the one who SHOT HIM, and then lets her STAY OVER in their dorm. It's like he followed a step by step guide on how to super efficiently piss Clover off.
So to say it will take time is kind of an understatement. I don't joke when I say Clover forgives, but she doesn't forget. She's very good at holding onto every little offense she's experienced. And she brings them up like weapons to make sure other people don't forget either. And she just. Needs time. A lot of time, to calm down and let things settle and maybe then she'll start talking to him without any prompting. But as of right now, she wants nothing to do with him and part of her staying at other dorms for the night is full out avoidance. She's very self-aware in her anger and she knows if she goes near him she'll get angry again so it's best not to do that.
Okay well obviously he likes her, but saying Ed likes someone is saying the sky is blue. Let's skip that part and move on to the more useful information.
He's... used to Clover being angry. So incredibly used to it that he sort of just assumes that she's going to be angry no matter what he says or does, so there's not really much point in trying to get her to not be angry about everything all the time. It's sort of Clover being Clover. But, he can't really properly differentiate between her angers because anger is anger is anger and Clover being angry at thing x means basically the same as her being angry at thing y, also the sky is blue and water is wet. He doesn't really get her nuances, and it colors a lot of how he interacts with her, specifically regarding actually telling her anything.
Which. He doesn't do a lot of honesty with her, oops. While he likes her just fine and she's family and everything he doesn't feel comfortable telling her much more than the bare minimum about what he's thinking or planning on doing because he doesn't want to make her angry enough to turn her whole 'murder people who anger her too much' thing towards him. Which is a serious worry of his.
Still, he wants to support her and FRANDSHIP at her and all of that, but she throws him off and he has no clue how Clover. Leading to things like not being sure how to approach her or if he should approach her or what, and he just... sort of stays in his shell like he seems to do around most of his team, rarely venturing into anything that he thinks might be upsetting unless he feels like it's necessary--avoiding another situation like what happened with Diamond where he didn't really feel safe much of anywhere is super important to him.
He's glad she decked him in the face when he was bsoding, though. thanks brosis. He needed that.
Rats: THERE IS A FUCKING IDIOT ON THAT TEAM AND ONE DAY I WILL KILL IT (I'm sorry Knight) otherwise the ones she knows seem alright, but has no strong thoughts beyond that.
Cows: No real thoughts, could care less about Ed's desire to not hit them.
Dawon: Adores Lace and is friendly with Sakura, will protect in any games if possible because their teams are married.
Omelettes: GOD HELP ANYONE WHO TRIES TO BUS THEM IN A GAME. She's very close to Miles and Ampere and friendly with most of them, and they are one of her favorite teams.
No I'm serious she will kill anyone involved in bussing them I'm sorry Kyr.
Tiamat: a caravan of fucking idiots
Takshaka: THE MARTYR TEAM. She is very torn on them now though because Hope and Magpie have both endeared themselves to her and they've been through Some Shit together. And she'd feel really bad bussing them like she's advocated for in the past.
Epona: Her other favorite team! Blade is her bestie and she adores Star and Mushroom is growing on her (see what I did there). She once had a bro-pact with Blade to bus if necessary with no hard feelings but she's very obviously not okay with that aynmore.
Amalthea: Friendly with Rook, doesn't know the rest of them and could care less. I FORGET IF SHE KNOWS THEY BUSSED OMELETTES but either way she would bus them without a second thought.
Vanara, Alectryon, Henwen: FOR BUSSING. She's only spoken to a few people from these teams and while down the line she may feel bad about it, they're her go to for bussing in any and every game. (I'M SO SORRY I LOVE YOU GUYS)
Cats: HAHAHAHAHAH. HAHAHAHA. HAHAHA. HA. She was friendy with two of them and obviously Aoko but now she is VERY ANGRY and VERY MURDEROUS and the only one mostly free of this is Aoko. Ragdoll and Puma she didn't see during the game so she's less likely to explode at them but everyone else? I am so sorry please don't hate me for playing a travesty.
What else is Ed doing that he isn't telling Clover about?
...On a more serious note, 'testing the powercap by measuring the effects of his spells with measuring devices and noting the results,' 'kissing Sapphire the one time,' 'planning out a foolproof way to test certain death mechanics by killing himself,' 'talking to Nafuna,' 'staying awake for 22 hours a day,' 'rearranging and looking through the entire bookstore,' 'blaming himself for not checking into Nyssatakeover earlier,' 'learning necromancy as an experiment to try bypassing the skill lock mechanics,' 'amassing a harem completely on accident,' 'befriending cats in general,' 'going to a killnyssa2015 meeting,' 'taking a microscope to the outside world to see if microbes exist here,' 'making friends on all the teams even the ones we bus,' 'trying to parrot Mizuki's illusion magic...'
This is probably not an exhaustive list but the point is he is a very busy person and also tells Clover very little about what he's doing or planning at any given moment.
AND YOU WONDER WHY SHE GETS MAD AT YOU, ED goodness
Well see the thing is, Tempest is...... kind of a shadow of Aurae. Tempest is a mostly moral-less person who lives by her own rules and handles things her own way, as opposed to Aurae who ha very strong morals and lived by her village's rules and handled things the way they were meant to be handled. In D&D terms, she went from a lawful alignment to a chaotic alignment. And she doesn't remember a lot of those important parts yet! She still has yet to remember taking her first life and how wrecked she was afterwards and all that and while her village's destruction had a huge impact, so does that memory. Because her village was the loss of her old life, this memory is the real loss of her innocence and childhood, essentially.
So Shadow Clover is essentially Tempest at her worse. No morals, will kill when necessary, doesn't listen to authority and does what she wants when she wants. There's two points in Tempest's life where she is at her worse, and it's her late teens and when she starts working for Maias again, and . . . well, neither is worse than the other but that's really what a Shadow Clover would be. Not Tempest the mage, or the Tempest-with-an-occasional-sense-of-humanity, but Tempest the Mercenary. Tempest at her most dangerous, with no filter and no reserves. And it doesn't matter who or what because Tempest at her worse has only one goal in mind and that's to kill Maias, and she will do anything she can to make sure she accomplishes that. ALL HATS ARE OFF.
Is there anything Clover can remember that would change Ed's perception of her? Ie, thinking she's a good person and so forth.
He thinks she's a good person and her heart's in the right place, he just also thinks she's angry all the time, including at him because she thinks he's dumb and doing dumb things and kills stuff she's mad at. Which may or may not include him. (the second main configuration tiamat/dawon did a wonder on ed's ability to not be paranoid... :'D)
So as far as thinking she's a good person? No, you can't change that, Ed thinks everyone this side of Nyssa or Red Yaksinis is a good person somewhere. But pathos would help a lot, he's rrreally bad at seeing the nuances behind her emotions and just sort of blind faiths that she means well--which is true and she seems to confirm in her tsun way but still.
To turn that around is there anything Ed can remember that'd change Clover's perception of him? Thinking that maybe he's not dumb/etc.
The thing is, she knows Ed's smart. He's demonstrated as much talking and using magic, and with a lot of other things. She would consider him book smart, but . . . other smarts not so much, which is why he's a dumb boy and will forever be a dumb boy.
But overall I don't think so, no. She does care about him, as angry as she gets. She's just been on the team long enough to distinguish dumb boy from actual idiot.
If Ed could have anything from home in Kyr right now that wasn't a person, what would it be?
But seriously he'd really love to have his psypher staff right about now--it's supposed to consume the souls of things he fights against and he never actually used it in canon because it was too much of a threat to the world. But it seems really really handy for beating up an echo.
Her sword or her staff, honestly. She's had the sword since she started as Tempest and has somehow yet to lose it (even after she died), so there's just sentimental value there. The staff is one of the few things she spent money on, and all it really does is channel and hold magic. So like, she can cast a light spell and the gem at the top will hold it there without her having to use the energy to do it. And it works a channeling point for her more difficult spells.
tl;dr the things she can kill with. She had very, very few things she kept with her otheriwse
What does Ed think of Clover's magic? In general, overall, w/e
HE THINKS ITS AWESOME. The rewriting thing sounds useful as hell, and the way she pulls from nature intrigues him because he can do something similar, but also the way she doe it is way different. And I mean, it's ELVISH. He'd love to learn elvish magic it seems so legendary!!
HANK LOEV COWS. They aren't close like say, Tiamat is, but that's suits him fine because he's just. Really bad at being close to people after . . . not ever doing it before mutants invaded his life. Katie is included in that because while she is their patron she's also really kind of part of the team. He's also REALLY PROTECTIVE of them despite the lack of familial closeness tho and he would do anything to keep them safe. GETTING KILLED is in that but that's a last ditch sort of thing, because unlike SOME PEOPLE he's very attached to living and he died once already. No more pls.
Speakin' of Rotten tho going to invade ur contact post prepare urself
Katie can only pick one kink to ever draw again. What is it and why?
oh god let's see. a cure/serum for himself is always on his mind, though it's taken a seat in the back because he doesnt have a lab or the necessary skills to actually continue his research.
Mainly though, he's been going to different Echos and asking about their games, especially Echoes who have run bad ones. He's talk to Haunt and Delriza and Rotten (as u kno) and once he compiles his notes into something more concise, he's going to move on to . . . Akasha and others. He's hoping to find SOMETHING to exploit in the bad games to lessen damage to the teams. Also he's going to talk to people who've been here the longest for info on any of Nyssa's games.
That and he's looking for work-arounds to GM-type games. Not just one plan, but multiple ones in case one may not work.
tl;dr Hank is looking for ways to break games. He has a lot on his plate.
