AND YOU WONDER WHY SHE GETS MAD AT YOU, ED goodness
Well see the thing is, Tempest is...... kind of a shadow of Aurae. Tempest is a mostly moral-less person who lives by her own rules and handles things her own way, as opposed to Aurae who ha very strong morals and lived by her village's rules and handled things the way they were meant to be handled. In D&D terms, she went from a lawful alignment to a chaotic alignment. And she doesn't remember a lot of those important parts yet! She still has yet to remember taking her first life and how wrecked she was afterwards and all that and while her village's destruction had a huge impact, so does that memory. Because her village was the loss of her old life, this memory is the real loss of her innocence and childhood, essentially.
So Shadow Clover is essentially Tempest at her worse. No morals, will kill when necessary, doesn't listen to authority and does what she wants when she wants. There's two points in Tempest's life where she is at her worse, and it's her late teens and when she starts working for Maias again, and . . . well, neither is worse than the other but that's really what a Shadow Clover would be. Not Tempest the mage, or the Tempest-with-an-occasional-sense-of-humanity, but Tempest the Mercenary. Tempest at her most dangerous, with no filter and no reserves. And it doesn't matter who or what because Tempest at her worse has only one goal in mind and that's to kill Maias, and she will do anything she can to make sure she accomplishes that. ALL HATS ARE OFF.
Is there anything Clover can remember that would change Ed's perception of her? Ie, thinking she's a good person and so forth.
He thinks she's a good person and her heart's in the right place, he just also thinks she's angry all the time, including at him because she thinks he's dumb and doing dumb things and kills stuff she's mad at. Which may or may not include him. (the second main configuration tiamat/dawon did a wonder on ed's ability to not be paranoid... :'D)
So as far as thinking she's a good person? No, you can't change that, Ed thinks everyone this side of Nyssa or Red Yaksinis is a good person somewhere. But pathos would help a lot, he's rrreally bad at seeing the nuances behind her emotions and just sort of blind faiths that she means well--which is true and she seems to confirm in her tsun way but still.
To turn that around is there anything Ed can remember that'd change Clover's perception of him? Thinking that maybe he's not dumb/etc.
The thing is, she knows Ed's smart. He's demonstrated as much talking and using magic, and with a lot of other things. She would consider him book smart, but . . . other smarts not so much, which is why he's a dumb boy and will forever be a dumb boy.
But overall I don't think so, no. She does care about him, as angry as she gets. She's just been on the team long enough to distinguish dumb boy from actual idiot.
If Ed could have anything from home in Kyr right now that wasn't a person, what would it be?
But seriously he'd really love to have his psypher staff right about now--it's supposed to consume the souls of things he fights against and he never actually used it in canon because it was too much of a threat to the world. But it seems really really handy for beating up an echo.
Her sword or her staff, honestly. She's had the sword since she started as Tempest and has somehow yet to lose it (even after she died), so there's just sentimental value there. The staff is one of the few things she spent money on, and all it really does is channel and hold magic. So like, she can cast a light spell and the gem at the top will hold it there without her having to use the energy to do it. And it works a channeling point for her more difficult spells.
tl;dr the things she can kill with. She had very, very few things she kept with her otheriwse
What does Ed think of Clover's magic? In general, overall, w/e
HE THINKS ITS AWESOME. The rewriting thing sounds useful as hell, and the way she pulls from nature intrigues him because he can do something similar, but also the way she doe it is way different. And I mean, it's ELVISH. He'd love to learn elvish magic it seems so legendary!!
HANK LOEV COWS. They aren't close like say, Tiamat is, but that's suits him fine because he's just. Really bad at being close to people after . . . not ever doing it before mutants invaded his life. Katie is included in that because while she is their patron she's also really kind of part of the team. He's also REALLY PROTECTIVE of them despite the lack of familial closeness tho and he would do anything to keep them safe. GETTING KILLED is in that but that's a last ditch sort of thing, because unlike SOME PEOPLE he's very attached to living and he died once already. No more pls.
Speakin' of Rotten tho going to invade ur contact post prepare urself
Katie can only pick one kink to ever draw again. What is it and why?
oh god let's see. a cure/serum for himself is always on his mind, though it's taken a seat in the back because he doesnt have a lab or the necessary skills to actually continue his research.
Mainly though, he's been going to different Echos and asking about their games, especially Echoes who have run bad ones. He's talk to Haunt and Delriza and Rotten (as u kno) and once he compiles his notes into something more concise, he's going to move on to . . . Akasha and others. He's hoping to find SOMETHING to exploit in the bad games to lessen damage to the teams. Also he's going to talk to people who've been here the longest for info on any of Nyssa's games.
That and he's looking for work-arounds to GM-type games. Not just one plan, but multiple ones in case one may not work.
tl;dr Hank is looking for ways to break games. He has a lot on his plate.

So basically she'd aim for maximum possible kinks by picking the vaguest kink she can, like the businessgirl she is.
What are some of hank's research projects in kyr?
