Here. CW for mild torture.

tl;dr version: They've captured a Drow, and while Tempest's uncle and cousin discuss what to do with him - he has information they need - she decides to take it upon herself to get the info herself.

But the Drow won't participate, so she decides to take it up a level - she stabs the Drow's hand to the wall and gives him another chance. When he doesn't comply, she stabs the other, twisting to make sure the wounds take longer to close, longer to heal. She's being crueler than she needs to be, but she's also taking out some anger on him for some passed transgressions.

Her cousin stops her, though, and makes her go outside. They argue, and she calls her cousin and his father cowards for not doing what is necessary.

He counters that he knows they can't just waste time as they have been, standing around and discussing things, but he also doesn't want them to be as low as they are - they are creatures who torture and kill, not them. They're better than that.

And he does this all without losing his temper, and it's that and his gentle touches that gets her to relent. She's taken aback by it all, because by this point they know what a terrible person she is, and yet they still put faith in her to make the right decisions.

She ends up staying outside while Baelvan and Zahar handle the prisoner, keeping watch after she's done crying.

What she learned:
- they have a Drow prisoner who knows where the main camp is
- Zahar and Baelvan are as close to pacifists as you can get in a war
- Tempest on the other hand is not so patient
- She's ANGRY. Angry that the Drow is being difficult, what his people have done to the group they've been with the last year, etc
- Some vague thoughts on what other torture she can put him through. It isn't pretty.
- DESPITE FUCKING UP PEOPLE STILL BELIEVE IN HER
- WHY IS THIS HAPPENING IN HER MEMORIES NOW
- Apparently she's worst at accepting it back then compared to now, because it brings her to tears
