The very first night she was able to afford a room at an inn and a full dinner. ★ (Neutral Positive)
This takes place when she's 17! Up until this point, Tempest has always been a lookout or along those lines, but for this campaign she took a more active role - she was hired for her magic, which she used to both protect the group as well as fight off the monsters that attacked them. Thinking nothing of it, she returns to the capital with the group to receive her pay.
What she isn't expecting is to be paid as much as she is. Practically balking, she catches one of the men before he leaves - one of the friendlier ones she got along with - and asks him if this is right, was she paid too much, etc. The man laughs and explains that she was paid the same amount as the rest of them, that this is the usual pay for a campaign like this, and she should take her money and go enjoy herself somehow. It was a pretty rough campaign, and she earned it.
She's still surprised, though, and hesitantly takes his advice . . . sort of. She finds a small inn to stay in for the night, and is utterly shocked that she can afford the room with plenty to spare. Dropping off her belongings, she goes to find a tavern next to get some dinner, as it was getting late.
Again, she can afford a (admittedly simple but full) meal with plenty of money left over, and she can't help but be utterly pleased. It's been months since she's started doing this, and she's still unhappy with herself for taking on this kind of work, but it's the first night as Tempest that she's able to feed herself and pay for her own room.
What she learned:
- This is abouuut half a year or so after she became "Tempest"
- It was her first campaign where she's hired on for her magic
- Up until this she was either sleeping on the streets or with other mercenaries who offered her space
- Um this is a lot of money
- Wow she can afford things for herself
- She ....... hasn't eaten a full meal in months so the meal itself is a HUGE DEAL
- A sense of pride that she's made it this far
- But also a LOT of guilt because she's still somewhat in Aurae's mind frame. She hasn't quite gotten rid of that part of herself, but the guilt is directed towards something in particular that's blocked in this memory (since it's another memory)
- Baby's first real paycheck ;o;
