13. Meeting Zahar and Baelvan ★ (Significant Positive)

But tl;dr Tempest gets hired along with a group of other men - the "best" to be found - to sneak behind enemy lines and take down the Drow from the inside. The group stops for the night in a small village to rest and plan and etc, and of the group one of the elves starts talking to Tempest.
He doesn't seem bothered by her being absolutely rude about not wanting company, but as they talk and introduce themselves she starts to relax, especially when he recognizes what she is and says he doesn't care. Though, the man speaks a familiar dialect of Elven, and she can tell by how he speaks that he's from a noble family.
Then the other elf - his son - comes over and introduces himself with their family name, and she has a bit of a freakout because that's her mother's family's name.
She's reluctant to reveal who she is, even after asking if they knew her mother, but finally she reveals that she's Ellyn's daughter, and the two are . . . shocked, to say the least. Shocked and surprisingly happy, as they'd heard about what happened to her village. She had been thought dead along with the others, and she tells them flat out that she did die that day, and that's why doesn't go by her given name.
Regardless, Zahar and Baelvan tell her that it must be a sign of the spirits that they've crossed paths, and that this isn't an opportunity they mustn't squander, given . . . y'know, her mom being disowned and all.
They spend the rest of the night talking over glasses of ale.
What she learned:
- she's been hired for a . . . war? Wait, what?
- she's still recovering from her revival, if aching all over and her hands not working right is any clue.
- Zahar is her uncle, Ellyn's younger brother, and is some kind of high-ranking noble in the family's clan. Swordsman!
- Baelvan is her cousin, Zahar's son, and is a few years younger than her. Archer!
- Apparently Zahar had been against disowning Ellyn because he thought the whole thing was foolish.
- UM I HAVE FAMILY THAT WANTS TO GET TO KNOW ME???
- And they don't care that I'm only a half-blood?
- ??!?!?!?!??!
