Kyriakos | Memory 9
9. Waking up, alive ★ (Significant Negative)
So this memory starts off with Tempest waking up in a cabin, furnished with nothing but a table and the bed she's laying on. There's food piled in a corner - vegetables and grains and fruits, enough to last at least a month, and enough water set next to that, enough for a person to bathe and drink for about the same amount of time. Folded next to that is a set of clothes, in her usual style - brand new. The table near her has a plate set out with a few, raw vegetables to eat - as though the person responsible for all this predicted she'd wake up soon.
As she comes to a little more . . . she realizes she's in pain. Her arms, her chest - she's weak, but she pushes the blankets off of her enough to see that she's been cared to, with her arms bandaged as well as her chest. There's an odd burn on her shoulder that hasn't been tended to, but she can't quite make out how serious it is.
It's then that she realizes she's . . . alive. Despite remembering, quite clearly, that she died. She can sense the residue of healing magic in the room, and another spell she's never felt before, and she starts getting angry. She tries to sit up and get out of bed but she doesn't have the strength, and pain flares in her chest as she twists too much.
But there's no one around. She's alone, in this strange cabin - someone clearly brought her back - odd, though, did the revival spell not work the right way? - and left her with enough food and water for the time it would take her to recover. Her magic is completely spent, so she can't even speed it along.
She has no idea what's going on but it all overwhelms her, and as much as she tries to resist she starts crying.
What she remembered:
- WELP SHE DIED
- The newer scars she has explained, though not how
- Someone brought her back and left her in this cabin??
- And why would someone do that in the first place?!
- She is really upset about being alive, almost like she doesn't want to be.
- But why?!?
