29. The last spring festival ☀ (Neutral Positive)

The village is abuzz with activity starting early in the morning; she hadn't woken up early enough to see the the elders parading back, but the different, delicious spells are enough to let her know what's going on; it's the official start of spring, and her village is preparing for the festivities. The small stage for dancing is being built in the center of the village, there's all sorts of people making the climb up to the main hall to see the flower *, it's hard not to be excited - especially when you're Aurae, and your favorite food is going to be around for the next few days in copious amounts.

Little, makeshift market stalls are set up all over, where men and women hand out treats and food. The few young children are running around laughing and helping for as long as their little attention spans will allow. Barrels of the finest ale from the nearby dwarven village are rolled out in preparation, as there's always a ridiculous contest held. Even a few dwarves show up, their neighbors always invited to participate, what with how kind they've been to them in the past. Aurae herself gets suckered into helping her mother cook, but for once she doesn't mind because it's the SPRING FESTIVAL. (It's a big deal)

That night, the entire village gathers to celebrate. There's music, dancing, food, and it's while it's a celebration rooted deeply in Elven beliefs, the village has put its own, unique spin on things. Tonight, and well into the next few days is nothing but celebration, welcoming the new season and the prosperous year ahead of them.

* The flower is an important part of the celebration! There's a certain type that grows around the village in the beginning of the year, and it's when the first one is spotted that spring truly starts in the village. And, depending on the color of its petals, it will predict what sort of harvest the village can expect for the year. That year they were white - meaning that they were to have a very good harvest that year.

What she remembered:
- more of her village's traditions - this time involving spring
- the flower tradition; the other colors are blue and yellow, with blue meaning winter will arrive early, and yellow meaning the summer will last longer.
- Her favorite food of all time evER. . . . it's grilled vegetable slices with a special seasoning that her village makes for the festival.
- What happens at the festival
- It usually lasts a few days, and a lot of people prepare foods far in advance for it (things that will keep well, etc)
