Her cousin's death and revival ★ (Significant Negative)
A tl;dr narrative!
What she learned:
- This wasn't an important battle in the main war, but it was important because it was the main settlement of the Drow's forces. They had to take this down, and the rest of the battles going on would benefit from it.
- Her and her cousin have taken up the back, making sure that no one gets through, because she's a mage and he's an archer and they're both capable with swords. It's a good match up.
- Lots of fighting! Lots of magic! It's tough, because the Drow are formidable.
- When it finally ends, she's completely spent. But they made it?
- . . . except no, her cousin ends up collapsing and as much as she tries with what's left of her magic, he passes on. She ends up passing out because of it.
- She is absolutely devastated by it when she wakes up, because it hits her insecurities SUPER HARD (losing people she cares about, losing family)
- Her uncle is more concerned for her than her cousin's death; she's both touched and extremely confused by it
- Some strange, masked man wants to pay his respects?
- SHE IS SUSPICIOUS. Something is telling her that this man is familiar but she can't figure out what it is
- But mere minutes after he does that her cousin is alive??
- HE'S ALIVE???
- Oh he's . . . been branded like she is
- SHE IS DEVASTATED BY THIS TOO because of . . . something? They talked about? The details aren't specific
