Kyriakos | Memory 15
15. Sword lessons with her father ☀ (Neutral Positive)
This is an Aurae memory! This one takes place when she's about fourteen or so, and she's meeting her father early in the morning for her usual lesson. And as usual, she complains, jokingly to her father, that it's far too early to do anything. Aurae's father cheerfullly tells her that it's never too early, in a voice that's just a bit too loud. It makes her laugh, even if she's briefly annoyed.
So they go through the motions, and at one point Aurae's mother comes out to watch them spar. Aurae gets knocked down a few times, but she gets right back up and gives as much as she gets, which makes her father happy.
Her mother speaks up once they're done, saying that you shouldn't be teaching your daughter such things, Doran, she's a young woman who should be learning proper etiquette, especially since her coming of age is right around the corner.
Doran just laughs before Aurae can respond and tells her that he wants his daughter to be able to protect herself, and that proper etiquette is so boring anyway, you'll bore our poor daughter right out of the house.
Aurae chimes in that yes, it's really boring and she'd rather learn the sword than learn how to cook. Her mother (as big of a ham as her father at times) dramatically declares that she's failed as a mother and goes back into the house, leaving Aurae and Doran laughing. Ellyn's laughter can be heard from the house as well.
What she learned:
- Her dad was teaching her the sword!
- She is very against being a proper lady big surprise there
- She is, without a doubt, a daddy's girl
